Football in Costa Rica
Monteverde – our cabin in the cloud forest.
On our first night in Costa Rica we went to a new cafe and the national cup final was on the telly and the team I chose (Saprissa) won and we went crazy, well let’s rephrase that, I went crazy.
We have a great place to play with our family and with the best football area, we are staying in a lovely grassy farm called Campo Azul Cabana. Me and my sister are practicing high shots and keepyuppy and headers and tactics.
We are playing cards and daddy is teaching us new games.
The cabin is very comfy and our bunk beds are brilliant. I love this place so I really don’t want to leave my lovely bed
The roads in Costa Rica are very bumpy that’s why I don’t want to go on them again.
The town of Santa Elena is very touristy and we have to pay our money for everything so today we just wandered around the town and we went to a great big hollow tree and my sister climbed up to the top of the tree, trust me it was about 40 meters high and 1 meter wide. It was called a ficus tree.
We all went on a long walk to the top of a big mountain in Monterverde Cloud Forest Reserve and we could feel the clouds. Henna and mummy went on ahead, we were shouting my sisters name all the way back and finally we could catch them up.
Henna and my mummy went on a long zipline, I chose not to do it all, the reason that I didn’t do it is because it felt very tiring as you needed to keep your legs lifted and crossed. In the afternoon all of us went on a long hike and crossed 8 hanging bridges in the treetops and a snake crawled through Henna’s foot – she was very very very scared.
The hanging bridges were very wobbly, creaky and long. It was really fun because it was really wobbly.
We found a football pitch and it was raining so we could play on it the puddles and we all got soaked but at least it was warm rain.
We went on a boat tour through the mangrove in the jungle. I was thrilled when the white faced monkeys climbed all over me because they wanted a banana.
