My birthday was awesome
Sydney Harbour Bridge climb
Me and mummy took the bus into Sydney city and we started to look for the bridge climb signs, it was harder than estimated to find the bridge climb because everybody thought that we wanted to walk over the bridge on the normal footpath so they gave us the wrong directions, eventually we found it with one minute to spare we shoved a boiled egg into our mouths and we headed to the changing rooms.
Mummy snuck a GoPro in her bra so she could take pics and avoid paying for the professional photos taken up there. How was she to know you have to walk through a (airport style) metal detector before getting on the bridge – of course the alarm sounded and we were cacking ourselves at the thought of being caught, but as she manually searched and probed mummy she got distracted by the fact she had the wrong shoes on so mummy was sent to change them – saved by her pumps!
Once we had actually got all of our gear on we set of for the bridge, it was tiring but awesome, we had headsets on so that we could hear our guide ( Dean ) he talked on and on and on…. so near the end of the walk I wanted him to stop talking so that we could just get moving and get in the shade, the view on top of the bridge was amazing we could see Sydney opera house there were 4000 steps and we had to go up steep steep ladders at the top we got a video taken by Dean and when we got back in the gift shop we took the free video, it felt so good to get out of our gear and back into our normal clothes we took the shoes that I was given just in case my sandals broke and we weren’t near shoe shop. When got back on the road we got the bus back to Collaroy I thought that this was a brilliant birthday present I thought it was amazing! I loved the experience
Cards
My birthday started a week before my actual birthday ( April 6th ) because my uncle Sven ( not really my uncle, but as good as! ) spilled the beans that some mail had arrived for me in his house in Manly,Sydney,Australia! In the morning when aunty Pam ( who’s really my second cousin) and uncle Sven were out doing their morning swim from Manly to Shelly beach, I searched in all the cupboards and I found a pile of envelopes all addressed to me.
I was excited to open my cards because I didn’t know who they were from, I had no idea that my friends would send me birthday cards, I got cards from;
Eve and Dee
Lily and Izzy
Isla, Sam, Emma, and Tom
Anna Hainey
Tess
Aunty Gillian,Jess, Anna,and Uncle Steven ( age 51 )
Nanna Gwen
On our last day in Australia Aunty Pam and Uncle Sven’s we went out to dinner for pizza at Newport, me and Arlo ordered a normal size macaroni to share but it was massive ( daddy had to help us finish it ) then Aunty Pam got out a birthday present for me it was a full Henna kit with designs for Henna tattoos i immediately asked mummy if she could do a flower on my ankle with the stem curling down my foot and the roots on my toes and guess what she did it just like I asked her to it looked amazing the only down side was that I had to sit still for a whole hour! Not my idea of fun, then when it started to flake off I took a risk and went to play ping pong with uncle Sven we weren’t champions we just tried to hit it to each other in the end our highest score was 5 hits back and forth, then we got in the car and we went back to Manly and got in our bed
Hanmer Springs
For my actual birthday we went to Hanmer Springs, Hanmer Springs is a water park/ spa it had 3 slides: THE PLUGHOLE, THE BLACK HOLE, THE ( really boring ) BROWN SLIDE
I really liked the plughole, and the black hole, but I found the found the brown slide quite boring, on the plug hole you could use either a single ring or a double ring I usually used a single ring but once or twice I went on a double ring with mummy, you had to sit in the ring and hold on tight. Then when the green light went on you would push off and go down a dark slide, then you would come into the plughole, it is a big bowl which you circle around in your rubber ring and flow with the water, after about three goes around the middle you would either go backwards or forwards down the drop into the splash zone, then you got out of the ring and then you would have to climb all of the stairs back up to the top of the slide. The black hole was really black, no I mean really black like a black bird in the dead of night, when you lay down on your back to go down the slide there were little arrows of light above your head showing which way you would go next, then you would come out into a mini pool, now I’m not even going to tell you about the brown slide because it would bore you to death.
Then daddy went to the van to get what I thought was more water but he came back with a big chocolate cake with yummy icing on top, I had 2 slices and it was scrumdidillyumshus. Afterwards we took 20 minutes to let our cake go down, then we went to the spa part of the park one of the pools was 42°, after that we all went in the lazy river and we raced each other over and over again, I really liked Hanmer Springs it was awesome.
