Bangkok
Well that was over in a flash!
We were only too aware that there was not a cat in hell’s chance of us even scratching the surface of this crazy metropolis. To save any disappointment, we handed the reins firmly over to the children and took from it the highlights that THEY wanted to experience.
From the Skytrain, to a bike ride in one of the city’s parks, to the most souped up and pimped out TukTuks we’ve ridden in Asia. We hit the children’s museum, for interactive play and a dinosaur dig, frolicked in THE quietest waterpark in the world on top of a mall, ate on the street in backstreet Chinatown and shopped at Pratunam Night Market, all from our base at the plush (for us) Berkeley Hotel. It was a riproaring, whirlwind of a success, though I did have a late night Skype meeting and got bitten to shit in the hotel lobby. My legs looked like Maple trees been tapped for their sap! Of all the places we’ve been, the modern air conditioned hotel is where they get me!
The flight to Perth, via Singapore was another successful transition day. Long, bit of lounging around but all ran smoothly and 14 hrs later we’re picking up our first car in what already feels like home!
